Izobraževanje inženirjev prihodnosti

Svet dela se še vedno zelo spreminja. Inženirji prihodnosti bodo morali imeti veliko več kot le najsodobnejše tehnično znanje in veščine. Kot potrjujejo raziskave, bodo morali znati reševati kompleksne izzive, razmišljati zunaj okvirov, razumeti ne samo posamezne tehnične podrobnosti, temveč celotno sliko problema, delati v interdisciplinarnih skupinah, biti kreativni in inovativni, da bodo lahko znanje uporabljali na nove in vznemirljive načine, voditi, motivirati in navdihovati ljudi, se prilagajati spremembam,…

Svet visokega šolstva ne gre v korak s časom. Večina visokošolskih zavodov (VŠZ) še ni pripravljenih na to spremembo. Da bi inženirje opremili z zgoraj opisanimi mehkimi veščinami in miselnostjo, visokošolske ustanove potrebujejo spremembo paradigme, nove strategije in načine učenja in poučevanja, vključno z razumevanjem potenciala IKT.

Predstavitev bo temeljila na prikazu trenutnega stanja v Evropi na tej točki, primerih dobrih praks ter inovativnih dejavnosti, ki jih na Fakulteti za tehnologijo polimerov izvajajo ter njihovih rezultatov.

 

Abstract

The world of work has and is still changing fast. The engineers of the future will have to possess a lot more than just state of the art technical knowledge and skills. According to research, they will have to be able to tackle complex problems, think outside the box, understand not only the individual technical details, but the overall picture, work in interdisciplinary teams, be creative and innovative, so that they can apply the knowledge in new and exciting ways, manage, motivate and inspire people, adapt to changes,…

The world of higher education is not keeping pace. Most of the higher education institutions (HEI) are not yet ready for this change. In order to equip the engineers with the soft skills and mindset described above, higher education institutions need a paradigm shift, new strategies and modes of learning and teaching, including grasping the potential of ICT.

The presentation will focus on presenting the state of the art in Europe on this issue, description of good practice examples, as well as innovative activities implemented at the Faculty of polymer technology and their results.

Maja Mešl je aktivno sodelovala pri razvoju študijskih programov in drugih usposabljanj, kot tudi pri  razvijanju in izvajanju dejavnosti na različnih izobraževalnih ravneh, katerih namen je spodbuditi ter izraziti inovativnost in ustvarjalnost pri študentih. Pri teh vprašanjih je aktivno sodelovala z Ministrstvom za izobraževanje, znanost in šport ter sodelovala na delavnicah na ravni EU. Je vodja projektov na Fakulteti za tehnologijo polimerov za projekte, ki obravnavajo vprašanja razvojnih dejavnosti in inovativnih študijskih metod za izobraževanje inženirjev prihodnosti.

She has been actively involved in development of study programs and other trainings, as well as developing and implementing activities at different education levels aimed at encouraging and harnessing innovativeness and creativity in students. She has actively participated with the Ministry of education, science and sport on these issues and participated in workshops on the EU level. She is the project leader at the Faculty of Polymer technology, for projects which address the issue of developing activities and innovative study methods for educating engineers of the future.
