EDUGEO (Podajanje geoloških vsebin v osnovnih in srednjih šolah preko interaktivnih učnih listov)
V okviru projekta EDUGEO smo pripravili interaktivne učne liste za poučevanje geoloških vsebin, ki so bili zasnovani na podlagi veljavnih ciljev učnih načrtov in smiselno nadgrajeni. Izdelane naloge, ki so dostopne na spletni strani www.edugeo.si, so uporaben interaktivni učni pripomoček, ki ga lahko učitelj neposredno vključi v učni proces preko spletnih nalog v učilnici, z uporabo natisnjenih učnih listov pa tudi v naravi. Spletno mesto nudi tudi dodatne informacije, pomembne za razumevanje vsebin in reševanje zastavljenih izzivov. Na podlagi ciljev učnih načrtov smo izbrali štiri geološke teme, in sicer: podzemne vode, mineralne surovine, paleontologijo in pobočne procese. Vsebine so prilagojene stopnji razumevanja glede na predhodno znanje učencev oz. dijakov in so razdeljene na tri nivoje poučevanja. Prva stopnja zajema učence 2. triade OŠ, druga učence 3. triade OŠ in tretja stopnja srednješolce. Spletna stran tako podaja vsebine, ki na zanimiv, intuitiven in poučen način omogočajo ustrezno poglobitev v geološke tematike in njihovo učenje.
EDUGEO (Geological content in elementary and secondary schools through interactive worksheets)
Within the EDUGEO project the interactive worksheets for teaching and learning geological content were prepared, designed based on valid curriculum goals and partly upgraded. All prepared tasks are available on the web site www.edugeo.si and prepared as a useful interactive teaching and learning tool that can be directly integrate into the learning process through online challenges in the classroom, and/or with printed worksheets in nature. The web site also provides additional information relevant to understanding the content and solving the challenges. Based on the curriculum goals, we selected four geological topics: groundwater, mineral resources, paleontology, and slope processes. The contents are adjusted to the level of comprehension based on the prior knowledge of the pupils and is divided into three teaching levels. The first level covers the pupils of the 2nd triad of primary school, the second stage of the 3rd triad of primary school and the third level of secondary school students. The web site thus provides contents that in an interesting, intuitive and instructive way enables a proper deepening into geological topics and their learning.
KAMENCHECK (Ključ za določevanje kamnin kot učni pripomoček v formalnem in neformalnem izobraževanju)
Mobilna aplikacija določevalnega kamninskega ključa KamenCheck je izdelana kot uporaben interaktivni učni pripomoček (e-izobraževalno gradivo), ki ga učitelji lahko neposredno vključujejo v učni proces. Pripomoček prispeva k izboljšanju kvalitete poučevanja geoloških vsebin v okviru naravoslovnih predmetov v formalnem šolskem sistemu. Vsebine so zasnovane na podlagi analiz veljavnih nacionalnih učnih načrtov ter so prilagojene potrebam učiteljev in učencev. Tovrstni učni pripomočki so za uporabo bolj zanimivi, inovativni, predvsem pa združujejo možnost interaktivnega učenja tako v učilnici kot v naravi. Ker je aplikacija prosto dostopna, je uporabna za vse zainteresirane družbene organizacije v neformalnem izobraževanju in ostale navdušence nad geologijo.
KAMENCHECK (Key for defining rocks as learning tool in formal and non-formal education)
Mobile application KamenCheck (and English version RockCheck) is identification key of rock and was made as interactive teaching tool (e-learning material) which can be directly involved in the learning process. The application contributes to the improvement and quality of the teaching of geological contents within natural science subjects in the formal school system. The content is based on valid curriculum and standard classifications of rocks and adopted to the needs of teachers and pupils. The education tool is more interesting for use than textbooks, it can be used innovatively with active learning techniques, and above all it combines the possibility of interactive learning both in classroom and in nature. Science the application is freely accessible, it is also useful for all interested social organizations in non-formal education and other enthusiasts of geology.
ESTEAM (Izboljšanje učnih metod s povezovanjem šol, strokovnjakov in geoparkov v kombinaciji z aktivnostmi na prostem in IKT)
Glavni cilj projekta ESTEAM je bil izboljšanje poučevanja z inovativno metodo, ki povezuje cilje nacionalnega učnega načrta o naravoslovnem in družboslovnem izobraževanju z razvojem mobilne aplikacije za pametne telefone, namenjene poučevanju. Projekt ESTEAM je nastal, ker so učitelji naravoslovja želeli izvajati svoje poučevanje izven učilnice. V okviru projekta smo izdelali aplikacijo TeachOUT, orodje za učitelje, ki poskušajo v svoje poučevanje vpeljevati tehnologijo, prav tako pa učne ure večkrat izvajajo na prostem. Učitelji, ki jih to zanima, lahko ustvarijo svoj račun v sistemu za upravljanje vsebin TeachOUT. To jim da možnost, da ustvarijo naloge, povezane z učnim načrtom, in premaknejo poučevanje v naravo. Prav tako lahko učitelji prepustijo učencem, da sami raziskujejo in načrtujejo poti za sošolce. Aplikacijo TeachOUT lahko uporabljajo tudi geoparki ali druge institucije, ki izobražujejo otroke in odrasle. Če udeleženci takoj dobijo povratno informacijo o svojih odgovorih, je to zanje dobra motivacija, motivira pa jih tudi delo v skupini in vse to izboljša rezultate učenja.
ESTEAM (Enhancement of School TEAching Methods by linking between schools, experts and geoparks in the combination with outdoor activities and ICT technologies)
The main goal of the ESTEAM project has been to improve the quality of teaching through an innovative method that links national curriculum goals in natural and social science education with the development of mobile teaching application for smartphones. The ESTEAM project is a result of the need and desire of natural science teachers to move their education out of the classroom. TeachOUT app is a tool for teacher, aiming to make technology and outdoor education a more frequent part of education. Interested teachers can get their own account in the TeachOUT CMC. This gives them the opportunity to create tasks connected to their curriculum, and to move teaching outdoors. It is also possible for teacher to let the pupils do their own research and make trails for each other. The TeachOUT app can also be used by geoparks or other institutions aiming to educate both adults and children. Getting immediate feedback on your answers is good motivation and working as teams will motivate and increase learning outcomes.

doc. dr. Tomislav Popit
Njegovo osnovno področje raziskovalnega delovanja je kvartarna geologija, geomorfologija in sedimentologija. Ukvarja se predvsem z mehanizmi transporta in sedimentacijskimi procesi kvartarnih pobočnih sedimentov ter vplivanjem geološke sestave na geomorfološke procese in izoblikovanost površja. V zadnjem času se veliko ukvarja z vizualizacijo in geomorfometrično analizo površja, predvsem na pobočnih sedimentih fosilnih plazov. To delo predstavlja odlično dopolnilo terenskemu delu, v katerem neizmerno uživa in je njegova temeljna metoda za pridobivanje podatkov. Ob raziskovalnem delu občasno izvaja aplikativne raziskave za komercialne naročnike. Tvorno sodeluje tudi pri popularizaciji geologije in znanosti v širši javnosti s poljudnoznanstvenimi članki, predavanji in intervjuji.
My major research interests are in the area of Quaternary geology, Geomorphology and Sedimentology. I am primarily interested in the dynamics of transport mechanism and depositional processes of Quaternary slope deposits and influence on geological setting on geomorphological processes and landforms. My latest interests are in terrain visualization and geomorphometric terrain analyses especially in slope deposit of fossil landslides. This work represents a great supplement to fieldwork, in which I immensely enjoy and is also my primary method of data acquisition. Occasionally I also do consulting work in geology for commercial clients. I am active in representing geology to the general public through popular science articles, interviews and lectures.
doc. dr. Petra Žvab Rožič
Petra Žvab Rožič je geologinja, asistentka in raziskovalka na Oddelku za geologijo Naravoslovnotehniške fakultete Univerze v Ljubljani. Osnovno področje njenega raziskovanja je geokemija, kjer z različnimi geokemičnimi analizami in pristopi ugotavlja naravna in antropogena stanja snovi v naravi (sediment, voda, organizmi, kamnine idr.) in procese, ki se v njej dogajajo. Raziskovalno se usmerja tudi na področje kartiranja Krasa in njegovega pomena za razumevanje pretakanja podzemne vode v njem, interdisciplinarno pa sodeluje tudi pri reševanju arheoloških izzivov. Zadnja leta intenzivno strokovno deluje na področju promocije geološke znanosti na nivoju formalnega in tudi neformalnega izobraževanja z namenom osveščanja pomena geologije za družbo in njen razvoj. Izvaja številne delavnice, izobraževanja, intervjuje, sodeluje pri interpretaciji geoloških vsebin v obliki razstav in predstavlja geološke vsebine v poljudnoznanstvenih člankih. Je vodja Sekcije za promocijo geološke znanosti Slovenskega geološkega društva.
Petra Žvab Rožič is a geologist, assistant and researcher at the Department of Geology, Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering (University of Ljubljana). The primary field of her research is geochemistry, where she determines, through various geochemical analyses and approaches, the natural and anthropogenic states of substances in nature (sediment, water, organisms, rocks, etc.) and the processes that take place in it. Her research is focused also on the field of karst mapping and its importance for understanding the flow of groundwater in it, and interdisciplinary cooperation in solving archeological challenges. In recent years, he is actively involved in the promotion of geological science at the level of formal as well as non-formal education in order to raise awareness of the importance of geology for society and its development. She implements numerous workshops, trainings/educations, interviews, participates in the interpretation of geological contents for the exhibitions and provides geological content in popular scientific articles. She is the head of the Section for the Promotion of Geological Science of the Slovenian Geological Society.
doc. dr. Nace Pušnik
Nace Pušnik je docent na področju informacijske in grafične tehnologije z usmeritvijo tipografija in grafično oblikovanje. Na Oddelku za tekstilstvo, grafiko in oblikovanje (Univerza v Ljubljani) predava predmete (Načrtovanje pisav, Ustvarjalna tipografija, Oblikovanje informacij, Integracija oblikovanja in tehnologije), ki sodijo v omenjeni področji. Poleg tega se raziskovalno ukvarja s sledenjem očesnih premikov in na podlagi raziskav preučuje uporabniško izkušnjo pri različnih grafično in tipografsko povezanih izdelkih, storitvah. Podrobneje se ukvarja z načrtovanjem in oblikovanjem pisav, ki so lahko uporabne v različnih medijih (tisk, zaslon, mobilne aplikacije …). Pogosto povezuje pedagoško in znanstveno-raziskovalno delo s konkretnimi strokovnimi in praktičnimi primeri, ki so uporabni v industriji in širše. Skozi pedagoški proces vzpostavlja sodelovanja z različnimi, tako slovenskimi kot tujimi, institucijami in poskuša študijske dejavnosti prikazovati na konkretnih primerih in pragmatičnih rešitvah.
Nace Pušnik is assistant professor at the field of information and graphic arts technology with focus on typography and graphic design. He lectures at the Department of Textiles, Graphic Arts and Design (University of Ljubljana) subjects (Typeface Design, Creative Typography, Information Design, Integration of Design and Technology) which fit into mentioned categories. Beside this, his field of research is eye tracking and user experience on various graphically and typographically related products and services. He deals with planning and designing of typefaces to be used in various media (print, screen, mobile…). On many occasions he makes connection between pedagogical and scientific-research work for concrete professional and practical examples that are applicable in industry and beyond. Through the pedagogical process, he establishes collaborations with various institutions, both Slovenian and foreign, and tries to show his study activities on concrete examples and pragmatic solutions.
